    \n Mountain Range. This is a geological formation older than the Andes Mountains and\nhome to more than fifty percent of Chile's plant species, in a stretch that runs from\nthe Biob\u00edo River to the Imperial River in the Araucan\u00eda Region in the south of the\ncountry. \n<\/p>\n

    \nThis great mountain range is considered an "island habitat" and a world treasure of\nbiodiversity. The "Wallmapu" is the sacred territory for our Mapuche people, a symbol\nof historical resistance and a current and latent threat to their natural space. \n<\/p>\n
    \n

    It is estimated that the loss of native and endemic vegetation exceeds seventy\npercent due to the unbalanced and harmful exploitation of the forestry industry.\nNahuelbuta, Naw\u00fcelfuta<\/b> in Mapuche language, means Puma Grande, habitat of the\nChilean cougar, which still lives in this unique and temperate rainforest of South\nAmerica.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/section>\n\n\n\n
